Hello and Welcome
I am a qualified Counselling Psychologist regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society. I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Counselling and Psychodynamic therapy. I work with young adults (age 16-18), adults and older adults. I have a deep interest in human development, from early years into adulthood. I am particularly interested in attachment and how our early relational experiences can influence how we relate to ourselves and others in the world.
At times in life one may find it a struggle to cope, with present situations or with things that have taken place in the past. Anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, panic, irritability and stress are some of the symptoms that can can lead to one feeling overwhelmed. Speaking to a counsellor can help an individual to process difficult and painful emotions, to improve self-reflection, to expand self-awareness and increase self-confidence. Engaging in counselling can help to get clarity, make changes and improve decisions in ones life for the better.
Talking to a counsellor can be helpful not only for current struggles but also for exploring and processing difficult past events that are impacting the present. Research has consistently shown that counselling, CBT and different types of psychotherapy approaches can enable individuals to explore, identify and change their unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving which also helps to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
If you have never engaged in counselling or spoken to a counsellor you may be wondering what to do and what to expect. You may find some of the answers to your questions on the FAQ page.
How I Work
In my work, establishing a nurturing and trusting relationship with clients is important, as I believe that it is fundamental to the effectiveness of therapy. My therapeutic work is aimed at providing a safe and trusting therapeutic space in which one can feel able to explore and process deep hidden emotions.
I use a combination of Humanistic, Psychodynamic and CBT theories to guide my clinical practice. Psychotherapy is tailored according to each person’s difficulty. Selecting the type of therapy can be discussed at the assessment stage, as each person is individual in their presenting difficulty and how they wish to work through things.
I am located in South Wimbledon, South West London. My clinic is within easy reach from Wimbledon and Colliers Wood.
We can first discuss your difficulty what you would like to gain from therapy and then establish whether I may be able to help you.
